    January-May Industrial Milk Production Grows 3.1%

    Milk production in Russia has been showing steady growth in recent years. In 2018 farms of all categories increased production by 1.5% to 30.6 million tons. At the same time, in agricultural organizations, industrial milk production grew 3.6%, in private farms - 5.7%.

    Russia to Expand Foodstuffs Export to China

    The Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev met with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China Han Changfu in Moscow. The meeting was attended by executives of Russian veterinary regulator Rosselkhoznadzor, top managers of the Russian-Chinese Investment Fund for Regional Development and representatives of the largest Chinese agricultural companies. The parties discussed the expansion of mutual trade in agricultural products and foodstuffs, the implementation of the Development Plan for the Far East and the Baikal Region of Russia and the North-East of China, as well as further cooperation within the framework of the Russian-Chinese Subcommittee on Agriculture.

    Russian Pork Export to Grow 20%

    Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation forecasts pig products’ export to increase more than 20% in 2019 over the previous year. The figure is likely to exceed 100 thousand tons. The development of the industry was discussed during an expanded meeting of the board of directors of the National Union of Pig Producers, held in the Ministry. The event was attended by First Deputy Minister Jambulat Hatuov, Deputy Minister Oksana Lut, representatives of the departments of the Ministry of Agriculture and members of the union.

    Grain Export by Inland Water Transport Grows 70%

    Ministry of Agriculture expects increase in production of vegetables, fruits and berries in 2019

    According to the forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, the gross harvest of vegetables in open and protected ground in agricultural organizations and private farms will reach 6.6 million tons this year, which is about 500 thousand tons more than in 2018. In particular, production of vegetables in winter greenhouses will be at least 1.4 million tons, which is 38.5% more than last year.

    In Q1 milk production in farms of all categories increased by 106.2 thousand tons (+1.7%) year-on-year and amounted to 6507.4 thousand tons. Production in agricultural organizations increased by 127.9 thousand tons (+3.3 %) and amounted to 4040.1 thousand tons.
